2021 River Run

Run and witness the beautiful fall colors of Amherst, Wisconsin. The River Run is an annual fundraiser held on behalf of the Central Waters Brewing Company. This event is usually held on the second Saturday of October. The River Run welcomes 1,500 runners to participate in a 2-mile or 5-mile race to help raise funds for the Jensen Community Center. Registrants receive a T-shirt, a can of River Run beer, and the option to purchase the limited edition and highly sought-after beer, Central Waters Black Gold. There is an equivalent run, which is just for kids, which is called the Falcon Fun Run. Registration begins every May 1.

For the 2021 run, many health guidelines will be followed to ensure that the run is safe and protects people from COVID-19. Many guidelines are saying to limit gatherings to 50 people or less than a fraction of a building code’s fire capacity. The River Run usually sees 3,000 people show up. Since this is being paired with the release of the Black Gold beer release, it makes adhering to the guidelines challenging. Central Waters Brewing Company is still working out the logistics as to how they will make this event possible and more information will be provided in the coming months about how Central Waters Brewery will accommodate the large gatherings both inside and outside of their brewery.
